Coaches need to take a knee sometimes

Even Coaches having breaking points

Hey friends, wanted to open up a bit about my journey lately. It’s been a tough ride, and I usually keep my struggles to myself. Being the “strong one” is a role I’ve embraced, but just like everyone else, I’ve got my demons. Lately, they’ve been knocking louder, trying to tear me down.

These past months have been especially challenging. Running the gym, being sick this weekend – it felt like the weight of the world on my shoulders. There’s a pressure to keep it all together, but some days, it feels like it’s all falling apart. Sunday morning, I woke up at 4 am with a heavy heart and a weary soul.

Confession time: my connection with God has been shaky recently. I reached out in prayer, admitting I couldn’t do this alone. And in that vulnerable moment, something extraordinary happened. My Apple Watch, out of the blue, vibrated with a simple message: “I Love You.” At first, I thought it was from my wife Rachel, knowing I was struggling. But no, it was an app I have that sends motivational messages.

Call it coincidence or divine intervention, but I truly felt God’s presence. A sense of calm and peace washed over me, undeniable and comforting. Even when my faith wavers, God is there, listening.

So today, I want to express gratitude. Thank you, God, for your forgiveness and love. Without you, nothing is possible. If you’re going through a tough time, remember you’re not alone. Reach out, talk to someone, and let’s navigate this journey together.
