Hey Team,
As we step into 2024, I want to express my gratitude to each one of you for being a part of this journey with me. Teaching jiu-jitsu has been a real blessing, and I don’t take it lightly. Back in 2009, when I started this gym, times were tough economically, and jiu-jitsu wasn’t as popular as it is today. I’ve been practicing since 1997, alongside MMA, Boxing, and Muay Thai. My passion for the sport has only grown stronger.
Over the years, my perspective has evolved. It began as a personal challenge, then a quest for understanding, and eventually, I became a teacher figuring out how to mentor others. I admit, I wasn’t great at it initially, and even now, I question myself sometimes. Making jiu-jitsu affordable has been a priority for me. I’ve strived to keep it accessible for families, and I’m proud to say that’s been a constant motto.
Beyond my achievements in jiu-jitsu, I’ve had a life outside the sport, bringing my experiences as a soldier and combatives instructor for the military to build an amazing team. Winning tournaments and producing champions is fantastic, but what truly defines us is our community. There’s so much we don’t talk about, like helping each other during tough times. Our community is about building friendships, witnessing life transformations, and that, to me, is more valuable than any medal or title.
Let’s make this year extraordinary on all fronts and show Tennessee why we’re one of the best schools in the state.
